About Us
On the 20th day of January 2002, in Kinshasa, a non-governmental organization called Action for the Promotion of Peasant Women and Disadvantaged Children in the Democratic Republic of Congo (APROFEDEC) was created. It is governed by the laws in force in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The administrative headquarters of Aprofedec, located on Djuakali Avenue, Kama II District, Alunguli commune, in the town of Kindu, Maniema Province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, can be transferred to the full extent of its scope of action if the majority of its effective members sitting in the general council express the desire, in accordance with the provisions described in its internal regulations. In particular, its scope of action covers the entire area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a specific focus on the province of Maniema.

With the vision and determination of its initiator, President Mrs. Marie Mpala Nyamungazi, to change the lives of deprived women and children in Maniema, the NGO has set itself crucial objectives:
- Contribute to the promotion of organizations and associations working on disadvantaged women and children in the DRC.
- Carry out concrete actions to improve the health conditions of mothers and children in rural areas.
- Support peasant women and disadvantaged children in their incomegenerating actions.
- Implement concrete actions on the ground to lighten the workload of peasant women in rural areas by introducing appropriate technologies for the production, processing, storage, and sale of agricultural products.
- Raise awareness among state authorities and international opinion on the problems and initiatives of women working in rural areas.
Details of the activities developed within the framework of the project and naturally in terms of sustainable development include:
- Health field: Providing the rural and urban population of Kindu with a minimum package of health care for all and reproductive health.
- Appropriate technology: Opening of a women's social centre and Opening of computer centers for training young people in new communication technology and networks in urban areas.
- Agro-pastoral domain: Food crop cultivation: corn, cassava, rice, soya, beans. and market gardening and vegetable gardening, Breeding of small, medium, and large livestock and fish farming.

Informal/formal education: Creation and renovation of schools and health centers.
Offering a range of multi-sectoral training for peasant women in the areas of expertise of Aprofedec.
